Letter from Luis Herrera Food Production & Education Coordinator

Hello Everyone!

My name is Luis Herrera, I am the new Food Production and Education Coordinator at the Community Food Bank. I wanted to share with everyone this list of places where you can get compost, compost materials and information. In my research I found out what types of compost are sold in landscaping companies and measure their pH and Nitrogen levels. I also added to the list who offers information and workshops on compost and other stores and individuals that sell it. Please share it with other interested people and compost enthusiasts around town. And if you happen to know of other places or persons who could be added to the list let me know so we can include their info on the list. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me as well.

 Thanks!

¡Gracias!

From your own home! Kitchen scraps, leaves, newspapers, manure and almost anything that came from a plant can be made into compost. We recommend everyone to compost at their own homes to reduce waste, save money and the environment!  Ask for information or come to our compost workshop and learn how to make your own compost for your garden.
